Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig on 21 September 1983) is an American actress who is best recognized for her performances in the roles of Shannon Rutherford on the ABC television series Lost as well as Kim Mills in the Taken trilogy. Maggie Grace is originally from Worthington located in Ohio dropped out high school and moved to Los Angeles after her divorced parents. Her first role came to her in the film, Rachel's Room's lead character in 2001, despite having a difficult time financially. Her performance as Martha Moxley, a 15-year-old victim of murder, in the television film Murder In Greenwich in 2002 earned her a nomination for a Young Artist Award. Grace was Shannon Rutherford on the Lost television show in 2004. She was the main protagonist for two seasons and was awarded the Screen Actors Guild Award. Grace was dropped from the series in 2005 to focus on the role of a greater part in films, having appeared opposite Tom Welling as Kim Mills in the film Taken. She starred as Kim Mills opposite Liam Neeson (both in Taken the year 2008) in Suburban Girl as well as the Jane Austen Book Club. Taken 2 (2012), Taken 3 2014 and Taken 4 (2014) are her re-casts of role. Grace returned to Shannon's character on Lost for two additional episodes. This included the series final. She was in 2013 for Season 6 of Californication. She portrays Faith as a groupie, and also a model for the stars. Hank Moody is played by David Duchovny. She is a member of the Gyllenhaal Family, she's the daughter and older sister of actor Jake Gyllenhaal. In her teens She began working as a small part-time actress for her father and appeared in Donnie Darko along with her brother. The next film she appeared in was Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind as well as Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal received critical acclaim for her performances as the lead in the romantic erotic comedy Secretary (2002) and the drama Sherrybaby (2006) both of which brought her a Golden Globe Award nomination. Her fame grew when she portrayed Rachel Dawes, a superhero in The Dark Knight (2008), thanks to several successful commercials she appeared in in the year 2006. The film was nominated for an Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress for her performance as Rachel Dawes in Crazy Heart, (2009). She then played in comedies and dramas such as Nanny McPhee's Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011, and Won't Back Down 2012 In addition to her role as an agent of the Secret Service agent, she has also appeared in White House Down (2013) as well as Frank (2014). One of her latest roles included the protagonist of the film The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). Gyllenhaal's debut as a writer and director was in 2021 with The Lost Daughter, a psychological drama that won her the Venice International Film Festival Best Screenplay Award. In addition, she was awarded an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.
